CPS Board Approves Superintendent Contracts, Staff Retirements

An approval of the superintendents contract, a resignation and several retirements were center stage at Wednesday night’s Chadron Public School board meeting.

The board unanimously approved contracts for both the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years for Superintendent Ginger Meyer. They also accepted the resignation of 8th grade math teacher Amanda Burkinshaw.

As for those announcing their retirements were 4th grade math teacher Tammy LaPorte, 8th grade science teacher Mike Kaus, and high school Spanish and social studies teacher Cheryl Welch.

It was also announced that after 24 years, Lorna Eliason is retiring as the after school director. Chadron Public Schools thanked them all for their years of service.

The next meeting of the Chadron School Board will be held March 13th.
