The Crawford boys picked up their first win of the season in a 95-0 shut out over Creek Valley Friday, while the Ram ladies are still looking for their first ‘W.’
On the gridiron, Crawford racked up 43 points in the opening quarter over Creek Valley, and tacked on another 37 before half-time. The Rams added 15 in the second half to improve to 1-1.
Meanwhile, the Lady Rams are on an 0-9 skid to begin the year, losing twice to Hay Springs and once each to Hemingford and Gordon-Rushville between Sept. 5-9. Crawford took on Hemingford and Hay Springs Sept. 5. Hemingford dominated in a 25-16, 25-5 contest, while Hay Springs escaped with a 25-20, 25-22 victory. The Rams and Hawks met again Sept. 9, where Hay Springs breezed to a 25-14, 25-10 win. Julia Russell combined for 17 kills against Crawford in the two matches over four days. Gordon-Rushville also defeated Crawford Saturday in a 25-17, 25-8 showing.
