The Crawford Volunteer Fire Department reported a 20 acre sized fire Sunday afternoon shortly after 4 o’clock on East Belmont Road.
According to Great Plains Fire Information, the fire is believed to be human caused at this time. Crawford has been assisted by both local and federal agencies.
With fire danger still high in the panhandle, the public is urged to use extreme caution while outdoors. There is still currently a stage 2 fire restriction in place by the Nebraska National Forests and Grasslands.
