The City of Crawford says the city swimming pool will remain closed until further notice with consultants coming in after the 4th of July celebration to determine the extent of the pool’s problems and whether it can be saved.
A company is scheduled to ground imaging of the pool and its surrounding area in an effort to gather the data needed to make appropriate decisions on the future of the pool and enable the city to provide factual information to the public.
The ground imaging is a no-risk move by Crawford because the imaging company says there will be no charge if they can’t provide the needed data.
Crawford has also hired the JEO and Associates engineering firm with a preliminary site visit expected later in July to determine what, if anything, the company can do to help the pool situation.
The city had already set aside grant money for pool improvements, but will now use those funds for the engineering report on how or if the pool can be saved.
Once there is enough information to make the appropriate decisions, the city will schedule a town hall meeting to fully update residents and get their input on possible courses of action.
