Chadron State College cowboys Sid Miller of Merna, Neb., and Jake Chasek of Mitchell were first and second in tie down roping at the CSC rodeo this past weekend.
Miller roped and tied his calves in 12.9 and 11.7 seconds while Chasek’s times were 11.5 and 13.5.
Two CSC cowboys also placed in bareback riding. Freshman Tanner Olson of Gordon was second and Cinch Kiger of Overton was sixth.
Another Chadron State freshman, Mejrus Rustemovic of Kiowa, Colo., placed fourth among the 90 cowgirls in the barrel race.
The rodeo drew hundreds of spectators, They nearly filled the grandstand at the Dawes County Fairgrounds, particularly on Friday night.
