The Chadron State College International Club’s annual Tasting Party, one of the school’s most popular cultural events for over 3 decades, is tonight at 6:00 in the Student Center Ballroom.
There were only 400 tickets printed for this year’s Tasting Party and if any remain tonight, they will be available for purchase at the door.
The Tasting Party menu is prepared by the members of the club and spokesman Ella says there once again will be dishes from about a dozen countries.
Fellow spokesman Oliva says diners will also get a variety of deserts.
Oliva, Ella, and fellow club member Herve say the Puff Puff or Puff Balls is found in one form or another all across Africa.
The Food Tasting Party also has entertainment and Olivia says this year’s package offers many things.
The Tasting Party is one of 3 events the International Club is calling International Week. It began Thursday with a public reading by Navajo poet Orlando and wraps up tomorrow with a performance by the African Soul International dance troupe.
African Soul International has gained worldwide recognition through appearances in both Black Panther movies and in the Michelle Williams music video Say Yes with Beyonce.
The performance begins at 2:00 tomorrow in Memorial Hall. It’s free and open to the public, but donations to support the Chadron State International Club activities would be greatly appreciated.
