Chadron State College has named veteran college administrator and leadership trainer Dr Kimberly Paddock-O’Reilly as its next Vice President for Academic Affairs, the top academic officer.

She succeeds the retiring Dr Jim Powell and will start on July 1st.

CSC President Ron Patterson is excited to welcome Paddock-O’Reilly to the Eagle family,” adding that he looks “forward to working closely with her to advance access and affordability for students, both inside and outside the classroom.”

Patterson says Paddock-O’Reilly’s scholarly record as an educator, researcher, and leader makes her an ideal person to drive the student-focused mission at Chadron State College.

She has most recently been an executive coach at KPL Coaching, a firm she co-founded, but also has 2 decades of experience as a college professor and administrator.

Paddock-O’Reilly feels her coaching skills and professional experiences, including her time as a peer reviewer, put her in a position to positively impact Chadron State.

She says “I truly believe that having the experience of working with organizations outside of higher education allows for innovation and outside-the-box thinking within higher education.”

Paddock-O’Reilly says she’s seen the different ways organizations have success and continue to grow their success, and it gives her and Chadron State a framework to continuously improve offerings to best serve students.”

She says she also took the job at CSC because it will allow her to grow, explaining “There are so many things about Chadron State that align with what I’m already good at, but it’s also a place where I feel like I’ll have a great opportunity to learn and grow as a leader and administrator,”

She adds “From my short time on campus and within the community, I can tell the people are genuine and welcoming. CSC feels like a place where we can work together easily, and when we do that, we’ll have great outcomes.”

Paddock-O’Reilly spent 8 years as a professor and administrator at Logan University in MO, and was Dean of Online Education and Associate Vice President for New Program at Salem University in West Virginia.

Paddock-O’Reilly was also with Missouri’s A-T Still University’s College of Health Sciences for 7 years and was Academic Success Coordinator at ITT Technical Institute in Indiana, where she was responsible for training and hiring new staff.

She holds 5 college degrees: one bachelors, 3 masters, and a doctorate in health education from A-T Still University.
