CSC Picks Up A Pair Of Dual Wins In Sterling, Colorado

The Chadron State College men’s wrestling team won twice on the road Thursday, defeating NJCAA No. 17 Northwest College of Powell, Wyoming, by a score of 31-18 and finishing No. 11 Northeastern Junior College, 46-6, in Sterling on Thursday.

The Eagles got a pin from redshirt freshman Keegan Gehlhausen in the earlier dual against the Trappers, as well as tech falls from sophomore Quade Smith, true freshman Brandon Paredes, and sophomore Dean Neff. Junior Quentrevion Campbell added a 14-point major.

Later, versus the Plainsmen, Paredes had his second win of the day by fall, and Smith, junior Rowdy Pfeil, and junior Bryan Zutavern also pinned their way to victory. Junior Ethan Leake, Neff, and Gehlhausen teched their opponents, and senior Mason Watt majored his.

The Eagles improved to a 2-1 dual record with the two wins.

They will send nearly the whole team to the Younes Hospitality Open, in Kearney, Nebraska, on Saturday.
