Funeral services for 62-year old Curtis White Crane Sr are Sat, Jan 28, 2023 at noon at the Porcupine School in Porcupine, SD, with the Rev Emerson Spider Jr officiating.

Burial is at Native American Church Cemetery in Porcupine.

A one-night wake service starts Friday, Jan 27, at 1:00 at the Porcupine School in Porcupine.

Curtis Paul White Crane Sr “Chokata Waokiye Hoksila” was born on Sept 27, 1960 in Pine Ridge, SD to Aloysius and Josephine (Means) White Crane Walking.  Curtis made his journey to the Spirit World on Jan 13, 2023 at the Eastern Idaho Medical Center in Idaho Falls, ID.

Curtis is survived by his mother Josephine (Means) White Crane; son Curtis Ray (Twila) White Crane Jr; daughter Kimberly Rae (Eric) White Crane-Pourier; grandchildren Stacia Janice (Cody) White Crane-Provost, Curtis Asa (Cante) White Crane III, Leo George Kills Back Jr, (Maekala Reddy and Family), Tyrell Jray White Crane, Carol Raeannen White Crane, Larae Sunshine White Crane, Jamie Raelene Lenai (Terrence) White Crane, Inyan Hoksila White Crane, Kaydence Elizabeth White Crane (special friend-Peta Martin), Dreshawn Standing Elk, Estella Eldean Blacksmith, Nariah Jennessa Blacksmith, Kimimila White Crane, Keya White Crane; special great-grandchildren Lailah Nadien Janay Reddy, Leondra Jade Paula Reddy, Mya Lee Reddy, Leo Jray Reddy (Ljray), Teacia James White Crane, Colton Wayne White Crane, Curtis Aries White Crane IV, Atlantis White Crane, Aubrelia White Crane, Autres White Crane, and all grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Curtis is also survived by siblings Linda (Edward) Lays Bad, Nancy (Duane) Reddest, Marilyn (Anthony) Wounded Head Sr, Brian (Connie) White Crane, and Evelyn (Ron) Brave Hawk. 

Curtis was preceded in death by his sisters Arlene High Hawk and Wilma Red Nest; nieces Mariah High Hawk and Gwendolyn Reddest; brothers Robert Means, Eldon Fast Wolf, Tommy Fast Wolf, Eldon White Crane, and Darrell White Crane; nephews                                                                                                                     Waldron Poor Bear and Demetri Means; son-in-law Eric Henry Pourier; paternal grandparents Isaac Fred & Jessie (Shot At) White Crane Walking; paternal grandparents Edward and Rosee Brave Heart-Means.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Pourier, Bobby Amiotte, Buzz Phelps, Slick Phelps, Edison “Super” Red Nest III, Waylon Means, Lloyd Bianas Sr, Alec Morgan Sr, Cornell Reddest, Anthony Wounded Head Jr, and Rudy Reddest.
