Chadron State College sophomore defensive lineman Hunter O’Connor added one more postseason award to his name on Monday, when the national outlet at D2Football.com put him on its 2022 Elite 100 list.

The Elite 100 continues a tradition at D2Football.com of including the top 100 players in NCAA Division II, in what were formerly labeled All-America teams.

O’Connor was named a “squad” member on a list designed to emulate a college football roster. He was listed alongside Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foes Jeremiah Bridges of South Dakota Mines, Dagan Rienks of Colorado Mesa, and Darrious Gaines of Western Colorado, as well as T.J. Davis of in-state rival Nebraska-Kearney.

The Broomfield, Colorado, native and Legacy High School product was also named to the American Football Coaches Association All-America Second Team last month.

D2Football.com selected national runner-up Colorado School of Mines’ John Matocha as its Offensive Player of the Year, and it picked Caleb Murphy and Tony Annese of national champ Ferris State as its Defensive Player and Coach of the Year.
