A Mass of Christian Burial for 47-year old Damian New Holy will be held Mon, Nov 20, 2023 at noon at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD, with Ms Joyce Tibbitts officiating and all prayer leaders welcome for traditional Lakota services
Burial is at Our Lady of Good Counsel in #6 Community – Oglala
A one-night wake service starts Sunday, Nov 19, at 5:00 at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala with rosary services at 7:00.

Damian Keith New Holy was born on January 1, 1976 in Pine Ridge, SD to Emory New Holy and Darlene Chase In Winter. Damian made his journey to the Spirit World on November 13, 2023 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Damian is survived by his sons Dallas New Holy and Austin Oakie/New Holy; siblings Emerald (Jim) New Holy, Juliet (Sonni) White Eagle, Darren (Francesca) New Holy and Jade New Holy; grandchildren Derrick, Peyton, and Kaliah Oakie; aunts Shirley Iron Road, Veronica Jones, Beverly Corbine, Genevieve Chase In Winter, and Yvonne Chase In Winter; uncle Donovan Chase; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Damian was preceded in death by his mother Darlene Chase In Winter; father Emory New Holy; brother Delbert New Holy; nieces Haylee New Holy and Emery Joan White Eagle; nephew Jordan Bagola; maternal grandparents William Chase and Martha Dog Trail; paternal grandparents Aloysius New Holy and Martha Good Voice Flute-New Holy; aunts Cheryl and Diane Chase In Winter; and uncles Willard, Bernard and Darnell Chase In Winter, and Lyle “Tommy” and Michael New Holy.
Pallbearers will be Elton Eagle Louse, Sonni White Eagle, Jack Corbine, Mason Corbine, TJ Yellow, Donovan Kills Small, Jim Two Bulls, and Jeremy Chase In Winter.
Honorary pallbearers will be all his sisters and brothers in Rapid City, SD and All Friends & Relatives.
