A Celebration of Life for 76-year old Dan “Danny” Stetson of Chadron, NE, will be held Tues, Jan 30 at 10:00 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron with Russ Seger officiating. Interment will follow in the Crawford Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday, Jan 29, from 5:00-7:00 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron.

Danny “Boone” Stetson was born on Sept 23, 1947 in Crawford, NE, and passed away on Jan 24, 2024 at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD.
Danny was the second of 6 sons born to Cleo and Wanda (Christensen) Stetson. He graduated from Crawford High School in 1966 and served in the U-S Army from 1967 to 1969. Danny married Gayle (Douthit) Stetson on August 22, 1971.
Danny held several jobs throughout his life, but mostly with Harris Sales where he was commonly known as “Dan the Bread Man” before retiring after a 30-plus year career.
He enjoyed playing golf, especially with his kids. Wednesdays were spent golfing in the Men’s League at the Ridgeview Country Club. He enjoyed visits to the casino, although his luck usually ran cold!
He loved drinking coffee with his “coffee buddies” where they shared the local “news” with each other. He took great pleasure in rolling dice at coffee and at the golf course where he usually found himself on the winning side!
Family get-togethers found Danny and his five brothers playing Pinochle together.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Rick and Dr William Stetson; brothers-in-law Melvin and Gaylen Douthit; and daughter-in-law Stephanie Stetson.
Danny is survived by his wife Gayle Stetson; son Matt (Hannah) Stetson of North Platte; daughter Nikki (Greg) Krotz of Chadron; step-grandson Isaiah Keepes of Belton, Mo; brother Kenny and Brad Stetson of Chadron and Duane (Jeanine) Stetson of Omaha; sisters-in-law Sandy Stetson and Anna Stetson of Chadron, Norma Cozad of Wood Lake, Shirley Douthit of Crawford, and Lois Douthit of Fort Collins, CO; brother-in-law Lonnie (Verona) Douthit of Crawford; and many nieces and nephews.
