Daniel Gene Freeman was born on March 6, 1995 in Pine Ridge, SD to Dale Frances Catches Sr and Olivia Rose Freeman. Daniel made his journey to the Spirit World on November 10, 2023 at the Pine Ridge IHS Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
Daniel is survived by his mother Edelyn “Sis” Catches of Oglala, SD; children Kobe Runs Above-Freeman and Orlando Red Feather-Freeman; brothers Jonathan “Jon” Catches, Benjamin Freeman, Orlando “Shane” Freeman, Lance “Junior” Brewer Jr, Christopher Youngman, Daniel “Cowboy Dan” Tobacco and Stevie Cross Dog; sisters Raena Cross Dog, Jodesa Garcia, and Katera Brewer; aunts & uncles Georgette Fire Thunder, Josephine Freeman, Doug Running Hawk, Harold Floyd Running Hawk, Emily Catches, Arvella Catches-Brewer, Troy Lynn Brewer, Lance “Lancer” Brewer Sr and Bernice Catches; nieces & nephews Evalina, Evelio, & Eviana Garcia, Logan Brave, Felicity Freeman, and Xanady Freeman; and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Dale Frances Catches Sr and Olivia Rose Freeman; brothers Dale “Tuffy” Catches Jr and Joseph “Joe-Cool” Catches; sister Acey Morrison; grandparents George and Dorothy (Running Hawk) Freeman; uncle Lincoln Cross Dog Jr, Marvin Reno Catches, and Harlan Fire Thunder; and aunt, Leta Fire Thunder.
Pallbearers will be Steve King, Jonathan “Jon” Catches, Matthew Fire Thunder, Orlando “Shane” Freeman, Benjamin Freeman, Dylan Brave, Lance “Junior” Brewer Jr, and Andrew Watters.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends & relatives.
