Daniel Lee “Block” Larvie was born on September 16, 1955 in Pine Ridge, SD to Alvin Larvie, Sr. and Ethelyn (Good Shot) Larvie. Block made his journey to the Spirit World on May 28, 2024 at his home in San Francisco, CA.
Block is survived by his sister, Gloria Larvie; brother, Adrian Larvie; daughter, Lily Larvie; son, Robert Larvie; aunts, Imogene (Dominic) Arquero, Charlotte (Harold) Good Shield-Eagle Bull, Denise Eagle Bull, Tuesday Good Shield and Donovan Good Shield; extended relatives, Jessie Good Shield, Daya Nara Good Shield, Arliss Good Shot, Gerald Good Shot and William Good Shot; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Block was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Sr., and Ethelyn (Good Shot) Larvie; son, Manuel Larvie; grandparents, Oscar and Jessie (Little Bald Eagle) Good Shot; and siblings, Dennis W. Janis, Alvin Larvie, Jr., William Larvie, Leon Larvie, and Rose Good Shot.
Honorary pallbearers will be all AIM Members and all of Daniel’s extended family and friends.
Vigil services for Daniel Larvie will start at 10 on Monday, July 29 at the Messiah Episcopal Church in Wounded Knee, SD with Reverend Harold Eagle Bull officiating.
Burial is at the St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery in Manderson, SD.
