Darrell John Steele, Jr. was born on September 10, 1958 in Pine Ridge, SD to Darrell, Sr. and Catherine (Hall) Steele. Darrell made his journey to the Spirit World on July 4, 2024 at his home in Pine Ridge, SD.
Darrell John Steele, Jr. is survived by his children, Stacey Hill, Elizabeth Steele- Martinez, Harry John (Christina Crazy Thunder) Steele, Darrell John Steele III, and Brittany Steele; brothers, Mitch Pourier, Richard Steele, and Dean Steele; sisters, Connie Pourier, Darby Steele, and Lolly Steele; aunts, Jean Good Crow and Betty Wilson; grandchildren, Kolbe John Steele, Baylee Little, Michelle Steele, Gage Steele, Edgar Martinez, Cassie Martinez, Leliana, Daniel, Nathaniel, Rachel, Ezra, and Jeremiah Sims; special niece, Luwana “Cakes” Janis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Darrell John Steele, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell, “Binky” Sr. and Catherine “Cassie” (Hall) Steele; sisters, Dolly Steele, Tinky Steele, and Darla Joy Steele; paternal grandparents, Harry Steele and Jenny (Carlow) Steele; maternal grandparents, Raymond Tapio and Bertha (Janis) Tapio; niece, Michelle Joy Pourier; and nephew, Jordan “Turtle” Steele.
Pallbearers will be Corwin Good Crow, Stewart “Stewie” Mousseaux, Aaron Miller, Kolbe Steele, Kelcey Twiss, and Baylee Little.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends and relatives.
Visitation services will be from 2-4 on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, SD. Traditional Lakota Services will be provided by Will Peters with officiant to be announced. Cremation will follow.
