The 2024 Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star games begin today in Lincoln and Demi Ferguson will represent Chadron in the girls basketball game on Wednesday at Lincoln North Star High School. Ferguson will be a part of the Blue team along with Karsyn Leeling of Sidney.
Ferguson and Leeling are the only two boys/girls basketball players from the mountain time zone in Nebraska to be selected and two of the three players selected between the softball, volleyball and basketball all star games to come from the panhandle, with Jaelynn Clark from Alliance playing in the volleyball match.
Ferguson, who will be playing basketball at Chadron State this fall and Leeling who will be going to Nebraska for high jump, are joined on the blue team by the likes of four time state champions McKenna Murphy and Britt Prince. Murphy will be going to Colorado State for basketball and Prince will be joining Nebraska as a top rated recruit in basketball.
The girls basketball game will be at 5 p.m. mountain time Wednesday and will be televised on NET-World.
