Dennis Holt Pemberton was born Nov 14, 1947 in St Louis, IL, and died Jan 19, 2024, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE.
Dennis was drafted into the United States Army and did his basic training at Fort Lewis, WA, near Seattle. He went on to complete advanced infantry training, then sent to Fort Benning, GA, for more training to become an infantry instructor.
Promoted to sergeant, Dennis was assigned to Fort Ord, Calif., overseeing troops through their advanced infantry training as part of Bravo Company.
Dennis eventually saw active duty in Vietnam as an ES Sergeant combat Squad Leader, in charge of and responsible for the lives of 12 men. He received his honorable discharge from the Army after serving two years.
