Derek Lee Red Cloud Sr “Tatanka Hanska” was born on May 28, 1991 in Pine Ridge, SD to Verdell Red Cloud, Jr. and Tessie Bear Robe and was raised by Sylvia Red Cloud. Derek made his journey to the Spirit World on April 27, 2021 at his home in Pine Ridge, SD.
Derek is survived by his father, Verdell Red Cloud, Jr.; the woman who raised him, his grandmother, Sylvia Red Cloud; children, Skylar Red Cloud and Derek Red Cloud, Jr.; siblings, Patricia (Ulysses) Red Cloud-Two Crow, LaShawnda Red Cloud, Kimberlyn Red Cloud, Vienna Red Cloud, Eternity and Elias Flying Horse, and Phillip Standing Soldier, Jr.; aunts/uncles, Linda Red Cloud (Mike Two Two, Sr.), Richard Red Cloud, Donna Ross, Sam Bear Robe and Faron Bear Robe; and grandparents, Linda Two Two, JoAnn Two Two and Bonita Andrews.
Derek was preceded in death by his mother, Tessie Bear Robe; aunts/uncles, Leonard Red Cloud, Marvin Red Cloud, Sr., Ella Red Cloud, George Yellow Horse, Sr. and Andrew Bear Robe; grandfather, Verdell Red Cloud, Sr.; and great grandparents, Vienna Two Two, Chief Oliver Red Cloud, and Helena Red Cloud.
Pallbearers will be Mike Two Two, Jr., Aloysius “Al” Two Two, Rich Ross, Chandler Ross, Donnie Mesteth, Jr., Corbin Red Cloud, Marvin Red Cloud, Jr., George Yellow Horse, Jr. and Lionel Red Cloud.
