Northwest Community Action Partnership this afternoon is holding the second of its volunteer repackaging events for the Diaper Bank program.
NCAP this summer received a $20,000 grant to purchase roughly 100,000 diapers and pull-ups.
Executive Director Brooke Smith says the diapers and pull-ups will help fill a big need in the community, but all the incoming orders have to be processed and repackaged for distribution locally.
The first repackaging day was two weeks ago and Smith says a dedicated double-handful of volunteers did some great work.
Volunteers who want to help today simply need to show up at the Northwest Community Action Partnership headquarters at 3rd and Pine. The work is scheduled to run from 3:30-5:30. More sessions are scheduled for next month on the 6th, 11th, and 20th.
