Burial is at the Catches Family Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD.
A two-night wake service starts Wed, March 31, 2021 at 1:00 PM, also at Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge with prayer services starting at 7:00 each night.
Dietre Hiram Catches “Wanbli Makoca” was born on March 21, 1985 in Pine Ridge, SD to Venus VIna (Red Star) Rodriguez and Paul Wayne Catches, Sr. Dietre made his journey to the Spirit World on March 26, 2021 near Hermosa, SD.
Dietre is survived by his mother, Venus (Ben) Rodriguez of Pine Ridge, SD; brothers, Alfred Catches, Paul Catches, Jr., and Moses Catches, all of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters, Cassandra Catches of Poplar, MT, Kaya Catches of Tennessee, and Heather Shooter of Rapid City, SD; nephews, Angelo, Ashton, Paul III, Richard and Carlito Catches; and nieces, Maliyah and MacKenzie Catches.
Dietre was preceded in death by his father, Paul Wayne Catches, Sr.; his Baby Boy; grandparents, Pete S. Catches, Sr., Amelia Ribsman-Catches, Neville C. Red Star, Sr. and Sophie Gladys Little Bull; uncles, Peter V. Catches, Raphael Catches and Joseph Red Star; aunts, Christine Cloud, Myrna Wheeler, Renita Wince, Eileen Red Star and Evette Little; and nephews, Derrick Beautiful Bald Eagle, Desmond J. Long and Theodore Red Star.
