On Nov 9, 1952, Dixie Lee Becker was born in Martin, SD, the fifth child of Bill and Beulah (Rayhill) Becker. She passed away on March 22, 2024.

Dixie graduated from Bennett County High School in 1971 and married George Kosmicki in 1974. They lived on a farm south of Martin where they raised three sons: Patrick, Joseph, and Nicholas. Of course, Bruno, their dog, completed the family.

After various jobs in Martin, Dixie became the office manager for Doug O’Bryan Contracting, a position she continued until she retired.

Once she was introduced to the sport of golf, it became a favorite pastime for her and her sister Ruth. Dixie also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, eating at the Senior Citizens Center, walking, and visiting with her many friends.

She had a wonderful sense of humor. Dixie would always see the bright and funny side of any situation. She loved animals and would feed the stray cats that would find their way to her house.

Dixie attended The Living Word Community Church; she had an amazing faith in God and our Savior Jesus Christ.

Her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were most precious to her.

Those left to cherish the memory of Dixie are Patrick (Tanya) of Idaho Falls, ID and their children Jordon and Luke Cole (grandchildren Trey and Zoe Cole), Jonnie and Wyatt Strasburg (granddaughter Greer Strasburg), Jake and Katana Mueller (granddaughter Paige Mueller) and Marcus Ireland, Joe (Calli) and children Madison Kaleb, Carter and Cat of Rapid City; and Nick (Heather Berg) and daughter Aster McNally of Windsor, CO.

Other family survivors are Peggy Livermont of Rapid City; Nancy (Kenny) Sterkel, Jerry (Anita) Becker, Ruth Becker, and Sandy (Larry) Gauer, all of Martin; and many extended family members and friends.

Dixie was preceded in death by her father, mother, and niece Beth Becker.

Bennett County Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements for Dixie Kosmicki.
