Don Harold Babbitt III was born in Worland, Wyo, on June 12, 1960 and passed away peacefully from complications of pneumonia on Jan 19, 2024 while surrounded by his family,
Harold became an avid skier at the ripe old age of 3 and enjoyed the outdoors his entire life, especially camping, fishing, and hiking. He was also a Boy Scout and earned the coveted rank of Eagle Scout.
Harold graduated from Worland Senior High School in 1978, then attended Chadron State College and earned degrees in Industrial Arts and Drivers Education.
After graduating from college, Harold became a firefighter for the Bureau of Land Management. He enjoyed being on the firefighting crew, but after about 3 years was offered a position with Pacific Power and Light. He stayed with its Rocky Mountain Power arm as an account manager until retiring after 35 years.
Harold met Susan Van Heule in 1980 and they were united in marriage on June 14, 1986. Harold and Susan’s first son Don joined them in 1988 and they welcomed a second son, Parker in 1990.
Having children never stopped them from camping, waterskiing and enjoying life. Every moment was spent teaching their sons that money didn’t grow on trees and how to become the men they are today.
Harold loved entertaining his friends and family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents Don and Sally Babbitt, his grandparents, and several other members of his family.
Harold is survived by his wife Susan; sons Don (Faryn) and Parker (Katie); grandchildren Don, Harlow, Carter, and Rylie; sister Carolyn Durr (Randy); and many nieces and nephews.
