Donna Jocena Ferguson was born October 4, 1928 at Hay Springs, NE to Joe and Rosella Taggert. She passed away on Feb 21, 2024 in Rapid City, SD.
As a young lady, Donna had to leave high school to support her father and sisters because of her father’s heart attack, her mother’s cancer, and the death of her brother.
She worked hard at numerous jobs in Custer, SD, also put together Mica Windows at the business on the outskirts of Custer. She always put others before herself.
Donna was a great teacher to many. She loved her kitty cats, westerns, feeding the birds, and teaching her grandchildren. Her favorite places to be were the Boys Club, Safeway, Millstone, and Hardee’s – spending time at each place with her friends and the people she loved.
Donna loved collecting rocks and passed that trait down to three family generations. She made so many friends and memories for her family and friends.
She indeed was the best apple pie maker. We all loved her pie and she shared it with so many. You could not pass it up because it was the best.
Donna had 8 children: Joseph Ferguson, Rose Harris, Teddy Ferguson, Herbert Ferguson, Patsey Morris, Donna Jean Ferguson. Mary Trent, and Virgil Ferguson. She was a great mother to us and a hard-working woman.
