Chadron City Clerk Donna Rust is apparently the longest-serving employee in Chadron history at 50 years of continuous service, and her co-workers celebrated the milestone Monday with a receptionÂ
The city council also praised Rust’s longevity at their meeting Monday night.
Mayor George Klein says Rust has been a vital asset for Chadron for decades.
Rust was a teenager when she started working for the city. She says it doesn’t feel like 50 years and she’s not ready yet to join her husband, former longtime Chadron Public Works Director Milo Rust, in retirement.
Donna Rust is also the longest-serving city clerk in Chadron history, marking her 44th year in the position this year..
