Loading

The suspect in a non-fatal shooting earlier this month in Rapid City has been arraigned.  35-year-old Charles Colhoff has been listed over the years as being from Edgemont, Pine Ridge, and Rapid City.

Colhoff pled Not Guilty to single counts of attempted 1st-degree murder and commission of a felony with a firearm, and 2 counts of possession of a firearm by a felony. A status hearing has been scheduled for next month

He remains in the Pennington County Jail in Rapid City on a $200,000 cash bond for allegedly shooting Morgan Running Horse in the head twice on Nov 4.

Officers responding to reports of gunshots found the wounded Running Horse and provided first aid until a medical unit arrived and took him to the hospital. His injuries were listed as serious but not life-threatening.

Colhoff was arrested on warrants for the shooting during a traffic stop last Thursday, during which police said they found a loaded pistol under his seat.

He’s banned from having guns because he was convicted in 2016 of Robbery and Use and Brandishing a Firearm for using a gun to rob two women of personal items in Pine Ridge on June 4, 2015.

Colhoff served 7 years in federal prison on those convictions and was released earlier this year.
