Edward Lorenzo Spider was born on October 1, 1972 in Pine Ridge, SD to Ina Mae Little Spotted Horse and was raised by Emerson, Jr. and Sandra Spider. Edward made his journey to the Spirit World on December 17, 2024 in Brooklyn Center, MN.
Edward was raised by his loving parents, Emerson, Jr. and Sandra Spider. Edward attended Sioux Falls School for the deaf, he then went to Rockyford School Elementary School, and then graduated from Pine Ridge High School in 1990. Edward traveled to Minneapolis, MN where he made it home. Although he called it home, he traveled throughout the years between Minnesota and his rez to visit family and friends. Edward was a talented artist, and also displayed his talents through his tattoos. His talent will live on through all his clients he has met over the years. Edward was also a hardcore Vikings fan.
Ed took part in Native American Church and also lived a traditional life. He was a Sundancer at Wakinyan Sna Mani Sundance. Edward was a loving father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and cousin.
Edward is survived by his father, Emerson Spider, Jr.; sisters, Louise Spider, Brenda Spider, & Jessica Cross; brothers, Micheal Spider, Servert Spider, Rob Neagle, and Howard Blue Bird; his children, Cody Spider, Valentino, Ava, & Olivia Spider; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, & nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Serena Spider; mother, Sandra Spider; grandparents, Emerson & Eliza Spider; Samuel and Dorothy Rouillard; his birth mother, Ina Mae Little Spotted Horse; cousins, Linda Little Spotted Horse, Jackie Little Spotted Horse, and Damion Richards; cousins/brothers, Clarence Rouillard, Jr. and Carey Rouillard; and nephew, Delano Two Elk.
Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
Pallbearers will be Travis New Holy, William He Crow, Jesse Rouillard, Jeff Good Crow, Travis Richards, Samuel Rouillard, Emmanuel โChanceโ Bear Killer, Dylan Tobacco, Jack Corine and Angelo Horse.
