Funeral services for 59-year old Eugene “Acorn” High Hawk are Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 1:00 at the C Bear Memorial Gymnasium in Batesland, SD. with Mother Michelle Dayton officiating.
Cremation will follow the services with burial at a later date.
A one-night wake service starts Sat, March 25, at 11:00 at the C Bear Memorial Gymnasium in Batesland with evening services at 7:00

Eugene Acorn High Hawk Sr was born on May 10, 1963 in Pine Ridge, SD, to Melvin High Hawk Sr and Vera (Moose) Bad Bear. Eugene made his journey to the Spirit World on March 12, 2023 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Eugene is survived by his daughters Michelle High Hawk, Nicole (Dustin) Little Moon, and Angelina High Hawk; sons Warfield High Hawk and Spencer High Hawk; hunka son Mike Clifford; brothers Melvin High Hawk Jr and Delbert High Hawk Sr; sister Martha Bad Bear; and grandchildren Joselyn, Charles, Kristanna, Caleb, Oakleigh, Tate, Warfield Jr, Bebe, Noah, Arianny, Neaveh, Braydan, and Iyahnna.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife Crystal (Thunder Horse) High Hawk; son Eugene High Hawk Jr; daughter Aquinnah High Hawk; father, Melvin High Hawk Sr; mother Vera (Moose) Bad Bear; and brothers Warfield Wayne High Hawk and Irving Bad Bear.
Pallbearers will be Joseph High Hawk, Jayden High Hawk, Dustin Little Moon, John Rondeaux Jr, Doughboy Bear Eagle, Pete Red Elk, Corey Alcott Sr, and Aaron High Hawk.
