Funeral services for 6-month old Evelyn Ponca are Thurs, August 11, 2022 at 2:00 at Sharp’s Corner Baptist Church in Sharps Corner, SD, with Pastor Chad Deible officiating.
Burial is at St Luke’s Episcopal Cemetery in Sharp’s Corner
Viewing precedes the funeral starting at 9:00 at Sharp’s Corner Baptist Church.
Evelyn Amaya Ponca was born on January 27, 2022 in Pine Ridge, SD to Janelle Ponca and her step-father, Eldon Brewer. Evelyn made her journey to the Spirit World on August 3, 2022 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD
Evelyn is survived by her mother, Janelle Ponca; step-father, Alden Brewer; siblings, Noa Runs Against, Paige Runs Against, Gabriel Ponca, and Albert Brewer; grandparents, Dwight Ponca, Sr., Cindy White Thunder, and Marty White Thunder; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Karen White Thunder, Delores White Thunder, Carol White Thunder, Robert White Thunder, Dennis White Thunder, James White Thunder, and Marie White Thunder; great grandparents, Kenneth White Thunder, Alice (Pumpkin Seed) White Thunder, Robert Pumpkin Seed, Sr., Mabel (Eagle Bear) Pumpkin Seed, and Leonard Crow Dog; and aunt, Courtney White Thunder.
Pallbearers will be Alden Brewer, Dwight Ponca, Jr., Noa Runs Against, KC Richards, and Marty White Thunder.
