Chadron State softball pitcher Delaney Farnsworth has been named the Week Five Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Farnsworth, a freshman from Centennial, Colorado, went 2-0 for CSC on the weekend and pitched two complete games. Chadron State finished the weekend 3-1 in a series against Fort Lewis.

In game two on Saturday, Chadron State defeated the Skyhawks 9-1 in five innings. Farnsworth allowed only four hits in her first appearance, striking out 10 batters and walking two in the win.

The one run scored by the Skyhawks was unearned, helping Farnsworth finish with an ERA of 0, her season best.

Farnsworth’s second appearance of the weekend was a 3-2 win for Chadron State on Sunday.

The Skyhawk’s scored both their runs in the third inning. Farnsworth responded by only seeing three batters in each of the following four innings. She struck out the side in the top of the 6th.

The freshman allowed five hits and two runs in seven innings. She struck out eight batters and had zero walks.

For the Weekend, Farnsworth finished with an ERA of 1.5 in 12 innings while going 2-0.

Chadron State is on the road this weekend as they visit MSU-Denver. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday.
