Early Friday morning a 28 year old man was killed in a two vehicle crash that occurred at 294th Street and 474th Avenue roughly five miles northeast of Beresford, SD.
Preliminary crash information indicates the 28 year old driver of a 2019 Jeep Cherokee was traveling eastbound on 294th Street near 474th Avenue. At the same time, the 74 year old driver of a Volvo Semi was traveling westbound on 294th Street. For an unknown reason, the Jeep crossed the centerline into the westbound lanes and struck the semi head on.
The driver of the Jeep was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the semi sustained minor injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
