Feleta grew up in the Collier Community with her sister Lorna and brother Al. She was fortunate to be raised around her great grandmother Betsy, her grandmother, aunts, and uncles. They taught her the importance of family. They shared their knowledge of traditional ways and traditional medicines. She attended OCS and that is where she met Samuel Two Bulls. They were married in September 1961. Throughout the next few years they travelled and moved from places as varied as Idaho, California, Red Shirt Table, Rapid City and ultimately settling in Oglala. During this time they had their children Curt, Sam, Jr., Mavis, David, Randy, Danny, Trixie, and Sterling. Besides her vast knowledge of traditional Lakota ways she also attended college with the intention of becoming a nurse. She worked as a nurses aide for a year before staying home and raising her children. Along with her children, her beloved pets, and her love of gardening. Feleta is also a previous Loneman School Board member. She also was very active in her community dwellings and was the current President of Collier Community in the Oglala District. Feleta’s more radical side as a staunch member of the American Indian Movement and other grassroots organizations she was involved in taking over the OST Tribal Building and was a force to be reckoned with.
