Tuesday afternoon was a busy one for area fire crews as just a little after four they were sent out to a fire burning just off Slim Buttes Road approximately 10 miles to the north/north east of Chadron in rural northeastern Dawes County.
The fire, dubbed the White River Fire, burned approximately 28 acres before being declared at 100% containment according to Watch Duty at 9:15 Wednesday morning.
No cause of the fire has been determined and no damage has been reported.
