     Lightning is blamed for a small fire this morning that burned 2-acres of privately-owned land some 8-to-10 miles southeast of Chadron
Chadron Fire Chief Brandon Martens says the Elk Shed Fire was reported about 8:00 and was fully contained and controlled by noon.
Chief Martens says 5 Chadron trucks responded along with a rig from Nebraska Game and Parks. The landowner will monitor the area for the next few days to watch for any rekindling of the fire.
