Local firefighting agencies made a cooperative effort Sunday night into Monday morning against the October Fire that was reported on Faulk Road 15 miles southwest of Chadron. The fire was reported around 4:30 Sunday evening and crews remained on scene throughout the night.
Great Plains Fire Information stated that the fire has reached 275 acres as of Monday morning and the cause is undetermined at this time.
Another small fire was called in from south of Crawford involving a camper on the highway and a fire rapidly growing in the adjacent ditch.
