Fishing Events Planned at Fort Robinson State Park

Fishing will be the focus of a weekend of events at Fort Robinson State Park later this month.

The activities held on Sept. 28-29 include a fly-fishing and fly-tying workshop, youth fishing instructor training and a community fishing event.

The fly-fishing workshop, led by the Cornhusker Fly Fishers, will be Saturday the 28th with a limit to 25 registrants at $25 each. Attendees will gather at 9AM at the Buffalo Soldier Barracks to tie flies and cast at Grable Ponds at 1PM.

Then on Sunday the 29th, there will be a youth fishing instructor certification course also at the Buffalo Soldiers Barracks from 9-Noon.

Later that day, from 3-6PM, the weekend will conclude with a Game and Parks Community Fishing Event. The public of all ages are invited to join. Rods, reels, bait and fishing instructions will be available for free.
