Flags At Half-Staff In Neb Till Sept 17 For Omaha Marine Killed At Kabul Airport

All U-S and Nebraska flags are flying at half-staff today through next Friday to honor Marine Corporal Daegan Page of Omaha, one of 13 U-S servicemen and servicewomen killed in the August 26 bombing of the Kabul Airport in Afghanistan.

Page’s body arrived in Omaha this afternoon and thousands of people lined a procession route along city streets from Eppley Airfield to Braman Mortuary in southwest Omaha.

A public memorial service is planned in Millard next Friday, which is why the flags will be at half-staff until sunset that day.

Flags nationwide were already scheduled to fly at half-staff tomorrow for Patriot Day, this year marking the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
