The Kimball County Sheriffโs Office made four arrests in the past week, with one individual receiving her sentencing for a misdemeanor charge.
Amber Seymour, 39, of Sidney was arrested August 21 on a warrant for failure to appear in County Court for sentencing.
Sheriff David Hottell said she was charged with attempted possession of a controlled substance and when she missed her court appearance, a warrant was put out for her arrest.
She was arrested in Cheyenne County, then Kimball County deputies picked her up, after which she was held in the Kimball County Jail until her sentencing on August 27.
Judge Randin Roland sentenced her to 180 days of jail time with 7 days credit.
Charles Sheldone, 47, was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court. He is facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
David Barringer, 38, of Cheyenne, was arrested August 21 for violation of his bond.
Barringer is out on bond for five felonies including 1 count of a Class 2 Felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, 1 count of a Class 3 Felony possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, and 3 counts of a Class 4 Felony possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, and mushrooms.
Hottell said part of Barringerโs bond conditions is to check in three times per week to the Kimball Sheriffโs Office, so when he missed a check-in, he was arrested.
Jeffrey Nichols, 52, of Minatare was arrested August 25 for driving under the influence.
The Kimball County Sheriffโs Department received a report of a vehicle out of control on the road between Dix and Kimball.
According to Hottell, an officer responded to the area and found the vehicle on the side of the road, and upon further investigation, they determined that Nichols was intoxicated.
