Frank was born on February 13, 1944 to Frank Murdock and Anita (Charles) Murdock in Eureka, CA.  Frank made his journey to the spirit world on December 27, 2024 at his home in Pine Ridge, SD, surrounded by his loved ones.

Frank was born and raised in Eureka, California and attended High School at Eureka High School graduating in 1963.  Frank was a proud member of the Yurok Tribe of California and a descendant of the Sokaogon Chippewa Community of Mole Lake, WI.   Frank enlisted in the Navy shortly after and was on the USS Winston where he was deployed on standby with his ship when the Cuban Missile Crisis developed and was stationed at the Naval Air Facility in Naha, Okinawa.  He was a third-class petty officer but his performance rated him as a 2nd class officer who did outstanding work.  Frank was honorably discharged on March 21, 1968.

Frank pursued his training in the Navy as an Electrician and also attended 1 year of specialized training in Electronics at San Jose.  Throughout the years Frank worked as an Electrician for various companies, he worked for Del Monte doing troubleshooting on their heavy equipment.  He also worked in Arcata, California for a lumber company.

Frank married the love of his life in 1971, Marjorie Murdock, and had 7 amazing children together.  He moved with his family in 1978 to Pine Ridge, S.D. and started his own business as Murdock Electric Inc., in 1983.  Frank received the award by the State of South Dakota for Small Business of the Year in 2006.  His compassion for the people was felt throughout the reservation, he worked long hours and had many late night calls when he would go out to fix a furnace so people could have heat, Murdock Electric did numerous contracts from Hospitals, Jails, Schools, Sioux Ann Big Crow Center, Kili Radio Station etc.

Frank found joy in the simple things in life; he loved donuts, coffee, salmon, and his nightly chocolate bar. He especially loved spending time and being present with his family. His family was his biggest pride. Taking his grandsons fishing, walking his grandchildren to the park & bike riding, taking fussy babies and walking them all over.  Frank loved to salmon fish on the Klamath River; this was one of his true passions. Frank was a very hard worker and as hard of a worker as he was, he believed in family first.
