Chadron’s first responders made a rapid response to a call from the corner of Tenth and Main Streets in Chadron Friday afternoon shortly before 2 o’clock for a two vehicle accident.
According to Chadron Police Chief Rick Hickstein, preliminary crash information implies that a vehicle parked facing south on the south side of tenth street, backed up in an attempt to join the flow of traffic. Meanwhile, an east bound vehicle came by and the two vehicles collided with each other. There was no airbag deployment. However, the Chadron Rescue Unit reported to the scene to medically clear all parties involved.
Hickstein stated that although no citations have been issued in relation to the accident, the incident is currently under investigation.
