High School football wrap from around the KCSR/KBPY listening area
Thursday Night:
The Crawford Rams hosted Garden Country for the season opener. Crawford fell 56-13.Crawford is 0-1 on the season and will travel to Northern Valley in Almena Kansas on Saturday September 7th.
The Hemingford Bobcats went on the road to South Loup and lost 54-36. The bobcats will host Hyannis on Friday.
Friday Night:
The Chadron Cardinals defeated the Broken Bow Indians 28-8. Chadron is 1-0 and will travel to Valentine on Friday September 6th.
The defending six-man state runner up Hay Springs Hawks opened up their season by defeating Paxton 28-14. The 1-0 Hawks will get a bye week this coming Friday before going to Potter-Dix on the 13th.
The Sioux County Warriors began their season with a big 50-6 win over Banner County. The 1-0 Warriors will host Leyton this upcoming Friday.
The Hot Springs Bison hosted Miller/Highmore/Harrold on Friday and won 21-14. The 1-1 Bison will go to Wagner on Friday.
The Gordon-Rushville Mustangs opened up their season with a 28-15 loss on the road at the Alliance Bulldogs. The 0-1 Mustangs will host OโNeill on Friday.
The Custer SD Wildcats hosted Tri Valley in their season opener and fell 20-13. The 0-1 Wildcats will go to Lennox on Friday.
The Valentine Badgers went on the road and fell to OโNeill 28-20. Valentine is 0-1 on the season and will host the Chadron Cardinals on Friday.
The Leyton Warriors hosted Fleming, Colorado and won 42-14. The 1-0 Warriors will host Sioux County on Friday.
The KCSR/KBPY high school broadcasting schedule for the week of September 1st-7th features Chadron softball vs Scottsbluff on Tuesday with Pregame at 5:50 on KBPY. Wednesday is Sports weekly on KCSR from 6-7. Friday we have the Sioux County Warriors hosting the Leyton Warriors. Pregame will go at 1:35 with kick at 2 on KBPY. Friday night will see the Chadron Cardinals at the Valentine Badgers with pregame at 5:30 with kick following at 6.ย
