Gordon-Rushville’s Jace Nelson fired a round of 79 to take 2nd place at Thursday’s Bridgeport Invitational. Mitchell’s Cael Peters ran away from the field with a 4-under, 68.
Mitchell captured the team title by 22 strokes over Bridgeport, 329-351. The Tigers finished with three golfers inside the top 10.
Hay Springs was also in Bridgeport but finished towards the bottom of the pack with their team score of 547.
Golf action returns on Monday as Chadron and Crawford head to Sidney.
