Memorial services for 43-year old Gabrielle Saunsoci are Wed, June 19, 2024 from noon-till-8:00 at the He Sapa New Life Church in Rapid City, SD, with Pastor Larry Salway and Dave Adams officiating.

Gabrielle Teresa Saunsoci was born on Nov 4, 1980 in Rapid City, SD to Joseph Black Bird and Wilma Josephine Night Chase. Gabrielle made her journey to the Spirit World on May 31, 2024 at the Monument Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD.
As a child, Gabrielle was active in ballet. In her teen years, she worked at the Northgate Bingo in Rapid City. She was a member of the He Sapa Teca Oyate Dance Group that would dance at the Crazy Horse Monument.
Gabrielle also worked in the hotel service and a cleaning service. She was a vital member of her foster family, the Brown family.
Later in life, Gabrielle moved to Salt Lake City, UT, where she met Mauricio Mendoza. They moved to Las Vegas, NV, where they got married. Gabrielle moved back to South Dakota when her foster mom, Mona Brown, became ill and she took care of her foster dad, Kenneth Brown.
Gabrielle is survived by her father Arlington Saunsoci of Nebraska; sons Kenneth Saunsoci and Kobe Saunsoci, both of Rapid City, and Mauricio Mendoza of Las Vegas; daughters Monique Marshall of Rapid City and Malina Mendoza of Las Vegas; sisters Xavier Rose Saunsoci of Madison, SD and Terry Audiss; two grandchildren; niece Carlita Peneaux; nephews CJ Peneaux, Travis Peneaux, Ronnie Peneaux, Timothy Saunsoci, Jesse Saunsoci, and Thomas Dillon; and fiancé Yenny Krog.
Gabrielle was preceded in death by her mother Wilma Night Chase and sister Angelita Saunsoci.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rosie Saunsoci & Family, Carl Peneaux & Family, Carlita Peneaux & Family, Stan & Pam Peneaux & Family, and all her friends, family, & relatives.
