Funeral services for 35-year old George Frazier are Friday, Nov 18, 2022 at 11:00 at the On Common Ground Church, 610 St Francis St., Rapid City, SD, with Pastor Elton Yellow Boy officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Keith Horse Looking.
Burial is at St Alban’s Episcopal Cemetery in Porcupine, SD
A one-night wake service starts Thursday, Nov 17, at 2:00 at the On Common Ground Church in Rapid City with evening prayers at 7:00.
George Garfield Frazier “Tatanka Ski Hoksila” was born in Rapid City on January 2, 2000, to Teri Hunts Horses and stepfather Eldridge Grinnell, both of Rapid City, and his father, Dan Frazier of Wyo. He made his unexpected journey to the Spirit world on November 8, 2022, at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City SD.
George was raised by his late great-grandmother, Violet Young Bear, from when he was 15 months to 17 years old. He graduated 5th grade at Grandview Elementary School, 8th grade from North Middle School, and went on to attend Central High School.
Throughout his life, George attended First Assembly of God Church and also became a member of the Club for Boys in Rapid City. While at Boys Club, he won numerous awards including Boy of the Month and Boy of the Year.
George worked the Boys Club Christmas tree lot for 7 seasons alongside his stepfather Eldridge and Uncle Cliff, and went on trips to Denver and outdoor adventures with the program.
George was helpful and had great leadership skills amongst the club members and staff. His role model there was Ira Colhoff.
He was also loving and caring towards his siblings as well as all his family members and friends. He was a multi-tasker of gaming and cooking in the kitchen, and was his own “Bob the Builder”.
George was nominated for his artwork at the Dahl Arts Center, and even promoted for more members to join the club on TV. Finally, he was always happy and could brighten up the room with his smile.
George is survived by his mother Teri and stepfather Eldridge; father Dan Frazier; paternal grandparents Roger & Debra; siblings Nina, Fred, Clementine, Eldridge III and Marty, all of Rapid City; grandfathers Gilbert of Mclaughlin, Merdy, Cliff, and Conrad, all of Rapid City; grandmothers Sheila and Aderianna “Mousy”, both of Rapid City; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by great-grandmother,Violet Young Bear; great-grandpa Lawrence Young Bear Sr; grandmother Angela Ladeaux; aunts Stacey Edgewater, Janet & Leslie Young Bear, and Shirley (Levi) Lefthand; and hunka father Denver American Horse.
Pallbearers will be DJ Kills Warrior, Eldridge Grinnell Jr, Steve McClune, Mark Black Calf, Dean Lichterman, John Black Calf, Leonard Little Whiteman, Darren Bettelyoun and DeWayne Eagle Tail.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Red Wing, Left Hand Family, Conroy Family, Horse Looking Family, Tail Family, Felicia Family, Thunder Hawk Family, Bob Mills & Family, Ira Colhoff, Mr & Mrs Frazier & Family, Mike Little Bear, Kris & Gabe House & Family, Young Bear Family of Rosebud, Angel, Adrian, & Sonia Peone of California, First of Assembly of God Church in Rapid City, Dave Oyler, Sara Gentry, Mark Kline, Dr John Palmer, Dr Wesley Leong, All Club for Boys Staff, All The Gaming Community, and All Friends & Relatives.
