Gerald “Jerry” Delmar Livermont of Wanblee, SD passed away on August 14 th at the Kadoka Nursing Home.
Jerry was born on August 18 th , 1947 in Kadoka, SD to Sylvester and Lillian (Poitra) Livermont. He attended school in Martin and graduated from Bennett County High School. He married Barb Elwood and together they had five children; Molly (Gerald) Risse, Cally (Stuart) Drobny, Wade (Lonna) Livermont, Will (Sharon) Livermont, and Lacey (Ken) Lokken.
Jerry will be remembered by his passion for ranching, hunting, horse trading and his love of the badlands. He was an artist, a creator, and a dreamer. His deep connection to the badlands reflected who he was and was where he always wanted to be. Jerry was a great storyteller with a big sense of humor. He was wild and a little rugged; a cowboy to the core.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren: Nathan, Chante’ (Korey), Will (Calah), Hannah, Amanda (Slate), Josie (Lukas), Wyle, Reata, Alec, Dillion, Bradley, Gabby (Kyle), Gracey, Hunter and great-grandchildren: Kayne, Kage, Ky, Hoyt, Liam, Hayes, Ivy. Siblings: Joyce (Kirk) Wilson, Patricia (Mike) Chase, Dave Livermont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Lillian, son-in-law, Gerald, and niece, Jennifer.
Honorary Pallbearers are his grandchildren, great grandchildren, Mark Vandermay, Kanan Vandermay, and Terry Vandermay.
Memorial services for Gerald “Jerry” Delmar Livermont will be at 11 on Friday August 23, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Martin, SD with Father Jonathan Dillon officiating.
Private Family Burial Services will be at the Livermont Family Cemetery near Wanblee.
Sioux County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Gerald Livermont.
