Graveside services for 43-year old Gilbert Jones are Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 2:30 at the Red Cloud Family Cemetery near Pine Ridge, SD.
Visitation will precede the funeral from 11:00 – 2:00 at Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge

Gilbert Frank Jones was born on Feb 20, 1951 in Niobrara, NE to Alexander and Olive (Wynde) Jones. Gilbert made his journey to the Spirit World on June 17, 2022 at his home in Pine Ridge, SD.
Gilbert is survived by daughter Sissetowan (John George Waters) Jones; son Ohitika Jones; bonus daughter Casey Red Hair; grandchildren Elithea Jones, Justina Jones, Savannah Perkins, and Jayshawn Piper; sisters-in-law Lena Morrisette, Toni Red Cloud, Bette Red Cloud, and Bobbi Phelps; nieces Clemen Perkins, Taymarie Red Cloud, Miko Janis, Tuki Red Cloud, Deidre Lumpkin, Melarie Iron Moccasin, Raeseana Phelps, Jeyavani Phelps, Samantha Leonhardy, and Kimberly Brings; nephews Lawrence Janis, Sunny Iron Moccasin, Pressler Red Cloud, Skyler Red Cloud, and Chrisitan Phelps; and numerous grandchildren.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his spouse Barbara (Red Cloud) Jones; parents Alexander and Olive (Wynde) Jones; sisters Susan Marie Jones and Lora Jones; brothers Melvin Jones and Harvey Jones; grandson Floyd Rouillard III; brothers-in-law Tonto Black Bear, SFC Christopher Phelps, Lionel Iron Moccasin, and Victor Rabago; sister-in-law Gloria Red Cloud; mother-in-law Marie (Dirt Kettle) Red Cloud; father-in-law Melvin Red Cloud; niece Tessie Black Bear; nephew Jesse Black Bear; and his fellow Field Rats Albert Yellow Bull, Barton Merrival, Stuart and Harlan Dreaming Bear, David Merdanian, and Leon “Chuckles” Janis.
