Golf Season Concludes At RMAC Championships

The Chadron State College golf team’s season concluded in Las Vegas, Nevada, today, during the third and final round of the RMAC Championships.

CSC finished in ninth place as a team, shooting a 982 over the three days.

Today, the Eagles had to fight strong winds that led to their highest round of the tournament, finishing with a 356 (+68).

After shooting a 317 (+29) on Sunday, CSC shot a 309 (+21) on Monday.

Jordan Grasis, a junior from Yuma, Arizona, finished tied 18th out 60 golfers. She shot an 86 (+14) today, finishing her with a 235 (+19) for the tourney.

Today, Grasis had two double-bogeys, two bogeys and one birdie on the front nine. The back nine consisted of three bogeys, three double-bogeys and three pars.

Alpine Hickstein finished second for CSC with an 88 (+16). The senior from Chadron finished the tournament in 39th place.

Hickstein’s front nine consisted of five bogeys and two double bogeys, while her back nine scorecard had six bogeys, a double bogey and one birdie.

Hickstein’s Chadron State golf career comes to an end after today. Her name can be found next to many records in the Chadron State College Women’s Golf record book.

Finishing tied 42nd, Allison Acosta shot a 91 (+19) during the final round.

Acosta, a junior from Oro Valley, Arizona, shot four bogeys, three double bogeys and one triple bogey on the front nine. Her back nine had three bogeys, two double bogeys and one birdie.

Brooke Kramer, a junior from Aurora, Colorado, finished with a 92 (+20), tying her for 44th overall.

Kramer’s front nine and back nine both had four bogeys and one triple bogey. The only difference between the two was one double bogey on the front, while she had two double bogeys on the back nine.

Rounding out the standings for Chadron State is Kenzey Kanno in 47th place.

Kanno, a junior from Mitchell, also shot a 91 (+19) during the final round. Her scorecard had four bogeys, one double bogey, two triple bogeys and one birdie on the front nine.

On the back nine, Kanno finished with four bogeys and two double-bogeys.

CSU-Pueblo ran away with the team title and had two golfers finish in first and second place.
