Gordon-Rushville Dominates WTC All-Conference Selections

The Western Trails Conference has released its all-conference honors for the winter sports season.

The Gordon-Rushville wrestling team led the way with 10 all-conference picks and two honorable mentions. Tristin Costello, Ashton Dane, Jace Rawles, Tucker Banister, Kyler Vincent, Jace Freeseman, Traiton Starr, Gregory Johns, Curtis Rittgarn and Lain Tausan were all-conference selections. Colton Archibald and Tobi Berndt were honorable mentions.

Dane and Vincent were medalists at the state tournament in February.

On the girls side of the mat, Jenifer Banister, Lainey Fillmore and Kristen Heck were tabbed all-conference.

The Mustangs had three girls named all-conference with two honorable mention picks. Tessa Harlburt, Haley Johnson and McKinley Grover were all-WTC with Ajae McKimmey and Reaghan Schultz honorable mention.

Gordon-Rushville finished as a district runner-up for the 2nd straight season.

The Gordon-Rushville boys hoops squad, who made the state tournament for the first time in school history, had three all-conference selections, two honorable mentions and the conference player of the year.

Jace Nelson, named the conference player of the year, joins Carter Anderson and Ellis Livingston as all-conference players. Logan Slama and Kennan Schwarting were honorable mentions.
