Over the next two weeks, the Black Hills National Forest Construction & Maintenance crew will be installing new toilets across multiple developed recreation sites.
During construction, full sites, or parts of sites will be closed to the public while work is completed.
Boat Ramps impacted:
- Friday, September 27 – Deerfield Cove boat ramp access will be temporarily restricted, but access will still be available at Custer Trails.
- Thursday, October 3 โ Pactola South Boat Ramp will be closed while installation of the toilet occurs. Access to Pactola will be available via the North Boat Ramp.
Campgrounds impacted: Part of the campground loops will be closed while construction occurs. Construction is expected to take approximately 2-3 hours per toilet.
- Wednesday, September 25 โ Cook Lake Campground
- Friday, September 27 โ Sheridan Lake Woodsy Loop
- Monday, September 30 โ Sheridan Lake Woodsy Loop and Sheridan South Picnic Ground
- Wednesday, October 2 โ Sheridan Lake Smokey and Chipper Loops
