The Hay Springs boys basketball team is headed to the district finals as the D2-12 champion after beating Cody-Kilgore 80-60 Thursday night in Hay Springs. Nearly all the boys district finals are Saturday.
The Hawks are the 11th seed and were sent to the D2-6 district, where they will play Wynot in Ainsworth at 5:00 MT.
       In the C2-12 final, Bridgeport was on its home court and easily defeated Kimball 55-27, avenging a 9-points loss at Kimball 2 weeks ago. Bridgeport is in C2-7 as the 10th seed and faces Freeman at Kearney High School at 2:00 MT.
Hemingford was a big underdog in the D1-12 finals – a sub-.500 team playing North Platte St Pat’s, #1 in the state, on the road. Things ended much as you would expect with a 62-25 loss by Hemingford. St Pat’s hosts Overton on Monday at 6:30 CT
Potter Dix is in the district finals despite an 8-14 record after beating 2-19 Banner County in D1-12. Potter-Dix is the 15th seed and plays Maywood-Hayes Center at Maywood at 6:00 MT in D2-2.
Scottsbluff topped McCook 61-44 to take the B-8 subdistrict and earn the right to host Seward in the B-3 District finals. The Bearcats are the #3 seed.
