The Hay Springs Hawks came into the Girls Subdistrict D2-12 tournament as the two seed with a 10-11 record and on a five game losing streak. The Hawks reversed their fortunes as they survived Hyannis 41-37 in the first round and in a rematch with Crawford, whom they lost to 30-25 eight days beforehand. Came out on top 41-36.
The first round saw the one seed Crawford defeat the four seed Cody-Kilgore 53-39, then the two seed Hay Springs defeat the three seed Hyannis 41-37 on Thursday night.
Friday night in the finals the Hawks got their revenge over Crawford in another five point margin of victory as they sealed their bid in the D2 District Finals.
The Hawks will take their 12-11 record into the District Finals where they will be the 16 seed and match up with the one seed Shelton on Friday night with a time and location to be determined.
